Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you live right now?
Currently we live on an island in SE Asia. If you want to know exactly where, I can give a hint: a popular blend of coffee comes from here :-) It's a 12-hour time difference between here and the East Coast of America, so that might explain why it looks like I replied to your email or Facebook message at 3:30 am.

Why do you only refer to yourself as "the Mrs."?
Mainly for security reasons, but I'm not super secretive about it. If I end up replying to your comments or write a comment on your blog, I'll most likely sign with my name. Because of the nickname I've given myself, I refer to my husband as "the Mr." and our toddler as "Little Man".

How did you come up with the title of your blog?
This blog was created when the Mr. and I first took a summer trip together overseas (Little Man wasn't in the picture yet). We actually spent the summer in the same country we're currently living. As I mentioned earlier, this country is known for it's coffee. I love the smell of coffee and how quickly its fragrance fills a room. The Mr. and I wanted to have that same effect with spreading the Good News to those with whom we'd come in contact. Therefore, I picked the title "A Sweet Fragrance". If you'd like to know a little bit more, you can read our story or read the very first and second post in this blog.

Why is your blog name different from your domain name?
Initially, this was probably due to some indecisiveness. "Aroma of Him" comes from scripture (2 Cor. 2:14-16 to be exact). Also, the domain "asweetfragrance.com" was taken. I've debated on whether or not I want to change it up and make everything matchy-matchy. Then, I decided I like that it causes people to ask questions. I want my life to point to Christ, even in my domain name :-)

How long will you live overseas?
As long as the Father wants us here!

Do you know how to speak another language?
Yes. Considering English is rarely used where we live, (other than the common 'catch phrases' like "Hello Mister!") learning to speak the language was a MUST.

What do you miss most about America?
Smooth traffic, fast internet, cool weather, parks, Target

What do you love most about where you live now?
Friendly people with smiling faces, lower cost of living, a simpler way of living (but sometimes it can be more complicated).
